Agricultural and pastoral production
  • At first agriculture was widely practiced and brought the Indus valley people great wealth. However, the practice of pastorial farming became wide-spread and more popular.
Trade and Commerce
  • The Indus Valley people engaged in trade both domestically and with other foriegn peoples.
Labor Systems
  • The people of the Indus Valley had a labor system a lot like modern day U.S. However, the rich did not always have jobs, or if they had jobs they were not very demanding ones. Another part of their labor system was that they used slaves or servants.
Industrialization
  • The Indus Valley people were fairly industrialized. They produced many tools and invented a sewage system. Also they made their own writing system, irrigation system, and businesses.
